Meet Our Chief of Police
Chief William C. Robertson
Chief Robertson brings more than 34 years of dedicated law enforcement experience to his role as Chief of Police for the City of Trenton. A career public servant, Chief Robertson has served in nearly every area of policing—ranging from patrol and criminal investigations to motors, SWAT, recruiting, and professional standards. His one-of-a-kind leadership is grounded in a lifelong commitment to building stronger, safer communities through transparency, integrity, and hands-on service.
Chief Robertson began his career at the Bonham Police Department, first as a Telecommunications Operator and later as a Peace Officer for nearly a decade. He then served the Allen Police Department for 16 years, gaining extensive operational and administrative experience. Since 2017, he has led the Trenton Police Department with a clear mission: to create the best department possible—one that serves with honor, earns the trust of the public, and fosters a family-oriented culture among officers and staff.
Chief Robertson is known for being approachable, deeply loyal, and passionate about community engagement. He believes in open lines of communication between law enforcement and the people they serve. “I want them to be involved in what we are doing so that they feel like they have a voice and so that they understand what we do and why we do it,” he says. Under his leadership, the department has placed a renewed emphasis on professionalism, ongoing training, and accountability.
